SOP Convention 2008

Apart from the pomp, pageantry and glamour on 29 October 2008, SOP 1st Opticianry Convention & Exhibition held at Suntec International Convention Centre has an underlying message. Continuing Education! 400 attended. Opticians sacrificed a day's work from their practices. They came, saw and learnt. The full day lectures enhance their professional practices and help them provide better services to the discerning consumers. You could sense the hunger for knowledge. |

| From the convention, it is apparent that the new generation of opticians is not prepared to rest on their laurels. They are in constant search for a pathway to upgrade. Courses offered by the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) would surely fulfill part of their major needs. Others that come in the near future would contribute to their ultimate career progression. | ||

From contacts with regional counterparts, SOP came to realize that all opticians share the same aspirations, challenges and a common destiny. More regular contacts will be made with regional optical associations. SOP will organize activities so that we could learn from each other, share knowledge and understand each market characteristics & idiosyncrasies. To meet this end, there will be joint visits among the different bodies. It is our desire to upgrade together as a united front! |
